Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) is a power generation and distribution company governed by the Government of Tamil Nadu, India. It is headquartered in Chennai and was created as a successor of the former Tamil Nadu Electricity Board.
TNEB is responsible for electricity generation, distribution, and transmission, and its regulation throughout the state. In terms of consumers, TNEB is the largest State Electricity Board in the country.

How to find out Service Number for TNEB Bill Payment?
- Head over to the Online Payment Webpage of TNEB – https://www.tnebnet.org/awp/login.TNEB+Online+Bill+Payment
- Once the page loads up, click on Know your Service No.
- Now select your Region from the dropdown menu.
- After selecting your region, select your Section.
- Now select your Distribution from the dropdown menu.
- Enter your Meter/Service Number from the Bill.
- Type the captcha code and click on Submit.
- It will now show you the Consumer No.(Service Number) along with other details.
How to pay TNEB Electricity Bill Online?
Once you have got the Consumer No., you can pay your Electricity Bill online by following these steps:
- Head over to the Online Payment Webpage of TNEB – https://www.tnebnet.org/awp/login.TNEB+Online+Bill+Payment
- Click on New User?
- Select Existing Service Connection Number from New Application No / Service no.
- Select your Region.
- Now select either LT/HT depending on your connection type and enter your Consumer No. without region code.
- Confirm your details.
- Now enter all the required details to make your account.
- Once the account has been made, log in using your username and password.
- Once you are logged in, select the bill that you want to pay and click on Pay Bill.
- Now select your desired payment option(Credit Card, Debit Card, Digital Wallet, Paytm, FreeCharge, MobiKwik, Cash Cards, UTI).
- Now accept the terms and conditions and click on Confirm Pay.
- Now you will have to log in into your bank account/enter the details for payment.
- Once the details have been verified and payment has been made, your electricity bill will be paid successfully.
